If I had my camera

I would show you how cute kylee's room looks now. Why? Because, it is newly painted.

SCOOOOOTT!

Also, we went for a walk at a big ol' dog park (memory grove) and Roxy loved it. She jumped in the lake to get her ball, she has never been anywhere that she could do this, so we were all expecting her to cower. She did not. She took off for her ball and doggy paddled along. She is a bit of a snobby dog though. She is more than happy to smell hello to dogs but, if other dogs try to smell hello to her, she acts like HOW DARE YOU STICK YOUR NOSE THERE! She made us laugh.

she is still happy to be here at home

you see this happy go lucky dog here? doesn't she look so happy to be at home with her family? does she look like she is in any pain at all? would you suspect anything to have happened to this nice, loving, never ever snapped at anyone dog to be injured.
yesterday morning my kids came running into my bathroom to show me this. i promptly freaked out, along with my kids, and took her to the vet. come to find out, a few weeks ago, while she was out with the husband, a bulldog bit her. she didn't cry, whine, nothing, so i guess my husband thought she was fine. OH NO, SHE LICKED AT THAT SORE UNTIL HER HAIR WAS GONE! she is now on antibiotics and i now have a bulldog sized chip on my shoulder.

two heads in a hole

i screwed up on the video where one of them finally makes it through the fence and starts going crazy with Roxy. like i said, funny during the day and annoying at night, because my bedroom window is right there. those dogs howl and bark anytime they are outside.

no use in crying

over a spilt cereal bowl and milk. i knew this day was coming ever since we have been giving Tessa bowls of cereal with milk. and today...IT happened. my reaction was completely different than i expected though. instead of SCREAMING AND LOSING ALL SANITY I HAVE IN THE MORNING, i thought "i wonder if Roxy will clean this up for me?"

which she did.

caught in the act

doesn't the theme of this post sound so scandalous. ooooh, marci and walter sitting in a tree...NO, i am not talking about that. i am so proud of myself today because i finally caught roxy in the act of stealing food from the counter in the kitchen. a few days ago i had boiled some chicken that i was going to use for some chicken noodle soup. i pulled out the breasts and set them on the cutting board, in the middle of the counter, to cool down for a minute. i left the kitchen for FIVE MINUTES and came back to an empty counter. no sign of chicken. anywhere. except for roxy just standing there staring at me. she gulped down TWO HOT CHICKEN BREASTS IN FIVE MINUTES AND LICKED THE FLOOR CLEAN! so, today i had 2 cupcakes sitting in the middle of the counter waiting for 2 kids that were coming home from school. i was sitting on the couch and could see the counter. roxy was in the house with me and all of the sudden i heard her paw nails going nuts on the kitchen floor. i turned my head and saw only one cupcake. i then immediately ran over there and she turned around and coughed up the cupcake, wrapper and all. this time i could get mad at her and she would know why she was in trouble. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY A DOG WOULD DO THIS AFTER 6 YEARS OF NOT DOING IT? i am so confused! walter says she is now forever stuck in steal from the kitchen counter mode. boo.

why every home needs a Roxydog

the seven year old can torture her with hairdo's
the (almost) three year old makes her lay down with her

then pulls the blanket on top
and everyone has to go underneath (this is Roxy's least favorite game EVER).

roxy is becoming a woman today. she is no longer "our little girl". here's to hoping for PUPPIES!

revenge of THE ROXY DOG

i think this was her form of getting back at tessa and everything that tessa makes her do and...

here is how she got back at me. SHE ATE MY FREAKING PANTS! MY PANTS! i would call her a bitch but, technically speaking that is what she is already. she has now turned into tessa. we have NEVER had a problem with her chewing on anything but doggy stuff. i believe she is picking up on tessa's 2 year old mentality-bad influence. ok roxy, i will never put you in my clothes again if you promise NOT TO EAT THEM!

how to humiliate a dog

you can tell this photo is a little old. 1. the date 2. i am in levi's and long shirt 3. i have my dog in a sweatshirt. i was going through the laundry and roxy was doing her part by getting in the way. what do i do? i throw my sweatshirt on her and make her wear it. DANCE LITTLE PUPPET, DANCE! wait...i mean TESSA'S PUPPET (because according to tessa, roxy is HER DOG, even though roxy is older than her).

a gem of a day

got some bad news tonight so i don't really feel like writing anything but, i can't sleep sooooo

i will give you this gem.

i made cake on Sunday night, oatmeal cake with rum sauce...so flippin good.

i made it in a HEAVY GLASS CAKE CONTAINER.

there was some of it still sitting on top of the oven.

i had all of the stools off the floor and blocking what was left of the cake. i know how that 2 year old mind works now, or so i thought.

i get out of the shower to find the 2 year old with her best friend Roxy sitting in the front room watching TV and eating cake...TOGETHER.

by the time i got to them the cake was all gone. i am sure that Roxy got the majority of it and so she got kicked outside because there was no way in hell i was going to clean up dog puke.

and the 2 year old...well, she just claimed that "the dog did it".

spoonfuls of sugar...LITERALLY!

i know, another Tessa story but this one is just to good to let the Internet miss out on. the other morning while i was working out, Tessa kept getting into trouble in the kitchen. so i put the HEAVY STOOLS ON TOP ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER SO SHE COULDN'T MANEUVER THEM AROUND ANYMORE! while i was in the shower, the two year old who apparently has SUPER POWERS, got one of the stools from off the counter and moved it over to where we keep the sugar sack on the counter. there is a spoon that we keep in the sugar because i haven't bothered with getting a sugar holder/container thingy. believe me, it is now on my to do list...right after i paint Kylee's and Brenton's rooms. anyways back to the story, i get out of the shower and do my thing. by the time i am dressed i realize that i haven't heard or seen the two year old in awhile, which can only mean one thing. TROUBLE. so i walk out to find Tessa feeding herself spoonfuls of sugar and then giving the dog spoonfuls of sugar too (isn't she so thoughtful). as you can see from the picture (all of the white on her is sugar)...our dog had A VERY GOOD DAY THAT DAY. Roxy loves it when mom is in the shower and Tessa resumes power over the house!

atomic fart bombs

for those of you out there who don't own a dog and think that your farts are really smelly. go out and buy a dog. they will make you feel so much better about yourself and your stinky farts. i don't know if it has to do with the size of the dog (around 50 pounds), the type of dog (labradoodle), or what it is she eats (Costco dog food) but, MAN DO HER FARTS STINK! i mean she honestly does produce ATOMIC FART BOMBS. and the thing about dog farts is this. they are totally silent. they are totally deadly. i would spray her butt with an air freshener if i could, or hey maybe i could hang one of those car fresheners from her tail?! i think she would totally go for that. what do ya think Roxy? do you want an air freshener hanging from your butt? ...and she just let another one loose right by me. sweet mother, what is that dog consuming in our back yard??

sit, stay, good dog

Tessa has decided that Roxy will now be here younger sibling. that dog will sit there and listen to her and let her do whatever she wants. she has tried to make Roxy be a horse, sit on her back, and jump up and down, as if Roxy were galloping around the family room. which she isn't, she is looking up at me as if to say, "really, REALLY i have to just sit here and let this happen?" and then Tessa leans over in front of her face and sticks her finger up her nose!
so the other night Tessa takes one of her fifty gazillion mickey mouse books and sits down next to Roxy. she then starts to read the book...to Roxy. "mickey mouse nananamamamananan HOT DOGS! MICKEY MOUSE MICKEY MOUSE. oh no namanamanaman." and then she puts the book in front of Roxy's face...to make sure she can see the picture of what she just read! and then she turns the page...and continues for as long as Roxy has to sit there with her. which is forever or until i release her from the 2 year old's prison...which is never.
