black swan-carrey style

ok, since they announced the movies up for oscar's i have to say...I HAVE SEEN 8 OUT OF 10. and plan to make that 10 by the time the oscar's are on. mmhmm, i have put that as one of my resolutions this year. the only two i have left to see are THE KING'S SPEECH (walt won't see this so i have to find someone else to accompany me) and WINTER'S BONE (which i can rent). anywhooooo...BLACK SWAN is nominated and so i am going to show this snl skit that you all missed with Jim Carrey. i have never laughed so hard, it was like the "old" Jim Carrey times. LOVES!

thank you hollywood idiots

for making me look like a better parent and not even having to do ANYTHING. so, i like to follow celeb junk on twitter and i happen to follow Judd Apatow, a movie writer. aaaaannnnd he sent this gem out into the world, "JuddApatow Just watched Black Swan with Leslie and Maude. Now we are all afraid to go to bed because of the nightmares. Awesome movie. Loved it."

1. his daughter is twelve.

2. his daughter is TWELVE.

3. HIS DAUGHTER IS TWELVE!

i know you aren't supposed to compare yourself, and i am really really trying not to. but, how can i not? I AM SOOO THE BETTER PARENT HERE! the dancing in the movie was amazing, but i think you have to be a dancer to appreciate what it is they go through. now i feel like my back is itching me...all the time. i seriously think that a bumpy rash is gonna show up.

the curiosity of it KILLED my cat

yes, i knew watching this that it wasn't real (i rented it for the holiday weekend). i was curious to see what point they were trying to make. that and i never saw the infamous David Letterman show. so, here is what i have to say. first off, if anyone believed this they are super gullible. casey is married to wahkeen's sister. what idiot of a sister would let her husband film this, if it were real? secondly, how can you make a film like this when you had a brother die of a drug overdose and call this "art". third, i still hate casey affleck...now just a little more. fourth, i now no longer like wahkeen. these are two fools who apparently felt like ruining their images and have way too much money and time on their hands. fifth, dear casey and wahkeen, I WANT MY TWO HOURS BACK!

on a thanksgiving note: i went home from my parents house with a headache from laughing so hard. we took the kids to see TANGLED-LOVE YOU MANDY MOORE! and walt and i saw 127 HOURS-AWESOME!

wherein i expose my shame

so, i was reading in one of my many magazines about hoarding and the show hoarders (which i don't watch but, know about). it then asked some famous people what is it that they hoard? all of their answers i was all, "what a bunch of losers. you collect the most stupid stuff. idiots. wait...oh no. no. no. no." but i can't hide it. it is there. staring me in the face. and even though i know it is a bunch of meaningless crap...i don't want to throw them away. i can get rid of all of our baby stuff, cause we ain't goin' there again, but i can't throw away silly papers.
here it goes...HELLO, MY NAME IS MARCI RUF AND I AM A HOARDER. I HOARD MOVIE TICKET STUBS. LUCKILY, THEY ALL FIT INTO A NEAT LITTLE STACK THAT DOESN'T TAKE UP MUCH ROOM. i am a loser.

movie tawk

i saw EASY A on Saturday afternoon with my friends. really, super, duper, funny stuff. i also think that Emma Stone is quickly becoming one of my favorite comedy actresses. she was good in THE HOUSE BUNNY and ZOMBIELAND too. if you don't like sex talk, don't see the movie.
the husband and i saw THE AMERICAN on opening weekend. so. slow. i. wanted. to. shoot. myself. to. put. myself. out. of. misery. they must have put every ounce of action into the previews because, there was a nuthin'. seriously. i was, at one point, closing one eye and seeing which lights (that light up the staircases in the theatre) were out of line. then i was pondering, how did that light get out of line?
the husband and i saw this one on Friday night. we were very impressed. high action. a little romance. some drama. and the language is just like GOOD WILL HUNTING. so if you don't like F-bombs or violence-stay away.
first off, i know this movie came out forever ago, OK. i was just watching it the other day and it got me to thinking. THIS IS THE ONLY SCARY MOVIE THAT MAKES ME CRY. not because it is too scary but, because i feel bad for the characters at the end. THEY NEVER STOOD A CHANCE AND IT IS SO SAD! i really like this movie-to my family: JJ ABRAMS PRODUCTION.

confusing the anning's

so my husband i went to the movies this weekend to see When In Rome (because we NEVER EVER GO TO THE MOVIES) and he saw the poster for DEAR JOHN.while we were walking i told him that i got two free passes to that movie from buying some DVDs at Costco. here is how the convo went...
me: i got free passes to that Dear John movie

he then looks at the poster
me: i didn't even want to see it but with free passes, how do you pass that up?
him: i can't believe you are going to see that movie
me: why?
him: because Channing Tatum is in it.
me: what is wrong with Channing Tatum?
him: i thought you hated her
me: (loud laughter) Channing Tatum is the BOY IN THAT MOVIE
him: well then who am i thinking of?
me: Dakota Fanning...I HATE HER!
him: Fanning and Channing...it is very confusing

my alien addiction

first off, it is monday...boo. secondly, i cannot get my camera to download any of my photos...booboo. thirdly, i am pmsing like no other...boobooboo. fourth, i am just having a really bad day.
i had meant to talk about the movie the traveler's wife, which i saw with my girlies for a bachelorette party. but, i want to be able to put up some of the pictures that i took to tie in with my funny stories...oh was that a night for the books!! i have been banned from putting up a picture of me doing something that Lisa said "DO NOT PUT THAT ON YOUR BLOG". so i am sorry blogworld, you will not see my funny bachelorette photo. not that i can get any of the pictures onto my computer anyways!!!
so back to what i will discuss, my husband and i decided to see district 9 on saturday night. we had been told that people had walked out and thought it was an awful show. i guess my only question for them is...did you know it was rated r because beyond that i didn't see anything wrong with it.

maybe i was expecting alot worse and so it didn't seem as bad as my own thoughts were coming up with. the violence wasn't as bad as the war movies SAVING PRIVATE RYAN or BLACK HAWK DOWN (in fact, i thought those were worse).and i thought the cgi was awesome...doesn't that alien look real? although i must say aliens are supposed to look like that picture from the book communion (oh i was obbsessed with looking at that picture! my mom had the book) and getting to my point, I AM ADDICTED TO ANYTHING ALIEN RELATED!! wanna know why??? BECAUSE THEY ARE REAL!! i truly believe this. can someone get me the x-file poster that david duchovny had up in his office "I WANT TO BELIEVE"? thanks. that belongs in my bedroom or by my computer.

but as i say "i never recommend movies to anyone". everyone has their own opinions and is given the right love or hate whatever they want. and i have no idea what offends/delights/enjoys/hates other people in the movies. all i know is what i like, and i am NOT recommending it to anyone!!!

stuck in a rut

i am totally stuck in a rut right now. i am really doing nothing except having breakdowns of the emotional kind when my husband gets home from work. he has to take over with the kids while i head to my bedroom and try to zone out. we haven't been doing a whole lot but, since the weather has been decent the kids get to play outside alot (which i am very thankful for). i have been to see quite a few movies. here is a rundown of what we have seen 1. wolverine-very good, wanted to see more of ryan reynolds character (comic relief) and taylor kitsch (friday night lights hottie) 2. ghosts of girlfriends past-this movie could have been so cute but they ruined it with all the sex talk, i mean literally, that is all the movie was about...duh!! 3. star trek-i will admit it i cried a little at the beginning and i really really liked it. i have never seen one episode of star trek and i loved the movie. and on our anniversary we are going to see 4. angels and demons-the tom hanks prelude movie to the da vinci code. then next friday we will see 5. terminator with lisa and paul-christian bale!!!! and on saturday we are taking the kiddos to 6. night at the museum 2- can't wait to see that one, i love laughing and so do my kids.

so there you have it, i do nothing but go to movies...but i love it. i was bored taking pictures and wondered what this would turn out to look like...my mirror is dirty!!i just thought this shot of tessa was cute...and i am selling this skirt in my etsy shop if you wanna snatch it up.

i just got myself these two books and am so excited to delve into them and start creating SOMETHING, ANYTHING!!!
