i know that you were all so curious to know what we actually did on THANKSGIVING so here is the BIG rundown. we were lucky enough to be invited to eat a delicous, divine, scrumptious dinner at my cousins house.

baby cousins and 2nd cousins saylee, brenna, and tessa got down with all the toys that auntie dixine has for them to play with.

kylee was posin for everyone on the staircase.

brady and brenton were lucky enough to have uncle ross get the fire pit going so they could have some smores.

here are the boys (plus my mom) watching....ninja warrior no lie it really was ninja warrior.

ky stayed in aunt dixine's room and watched her own movie whilst bouncing lounging on the ball.
aren't sisters some much fun to take pictures with???

here is a warning to all who eat too much turkey and potatoes on thanksgiving. this could happen to you

much love and gratitude to all, Marci

singing praises (thanksgiving part I)

here is how we start our day on THANKSGIVING morning in the Ruf home...

We lay in bed and watch Macy's Thanksgiving day parade while the menfolk go and play manly football. this is kylee's fav postion to watch TV?!
Here is Tessa in all her glorified cuteness. She is thankful that her runny nose is not as runny as it was yesterday.

Our main man brenton is thankful for...
clothes, school, house, friends, and the river.

Here is our dark haired beauty kylee. She is dressed (along with her sister) in a skirt that mom made for her on this THANKSGIVING holiday. she picked out her RED RUBY SLIPPERS. Kylee is thankful for...
friends, jesus, family, roxy, aunts and uncles, grandma and grandpa, house, movies, and water.

we are thankful for all of the above!!!(thanksgiving part II tomorrow...what did the ruf's do???) oh yeah i am also thankful that i got the girls skirts made in time for THANKSGIVING.

still my numba one stunna

Dearest Husband,
Do you realize or remember that it is our 9 YEAR FIRST DATE ANNIVERSARY. Yes, it is true you took me out on our first date 9 years ago today. Do you remember what we did? I DO. You took me to dinner at an italian restauraunt and then we went and saw my BROTHER perform in GREASE. i remember going to the bathroom with my mom at intermission and gushing to her about how cute i thought you were...i loved your dark hair and the goatee that you had and the way your eyes crinkle when you smiled. i loved it, i loved it, i loved it. next, you took me to see the new JAMES BOND FLICK(9 years ago of course). then you dropped me off at my doorstep and i giggled and wasn't sure how to act because i liked you soooo much. thank you for asking me out again!!

Here we are in San Diego watching your team, the Braves play the Padres. Remember we left with a Padres blanket, but i wore a BRAVES shirt just for you.
This is the only shot i could find of us KISSING on my surprise 30th birthday party that you planned for me. Thank You (yes i was supa dupa prego in that picture)

and here is how far we have come. Thank You for always taking me to cali. Your children and i Love IT. Love always, B

...and what a full MOON it was

have you ever marvelled at how beautiful the MOON looks in all its glory when it is FULL and bright at night. it really is a peaceful thing to gaze at. every night we get a FULL MOON at our house. and you ask how this is possible? it is possible thanks to our one and only Tessa. she has now taken to running away from you before you can get her diaper and pj's on her after bathtime. so if you are ever at our house at bathtime you will be sure to view a FULL MOON... the RUF way.

and as the book says, "GOODNIGHT MOON".

Roxy the Great

Or i should name this, ROXY the kindest, gentle, loving, adoring, will let a 12 month old do anything to her, good good DOGGY. TESSA is in love. TESSA is in love with a labradoodle named ROXY. Here is how the love goes down at our house...

First we give our good good dog some nice pats on her back to let her know she is a good girl...

Next we lay down on top of our dogs head and lay there while she chews on her rawhide, and maybe we try to take it away a couple of times just to see if she has a good grasp on it or not.

Last, we get back up and give her another pat on the back. Good girl ROXY. i love you!!!

where oh where has my little tess gone?

Where oh where can she be? I know lets play a game called follow the boo boo. Before we start i must explain what a "boo boo" is... A boo boo is the most loved possession of a baby/toddler/7 year old. My oldset son Brenton was the one to term his beloved blanket a boo boo. Where he came up with this term of endearment we will never know, but he named it and now all of my children and my sister Nicole's children and my soon to come neices and nephews will likely call it that too. A boo boo is also the silky g's us mormon mommies wear all the time so it can never be lost, mommy always has one on. And now i will take you on a journey of follow the boo boo's find the tessa...

in mommies shower?...
in the computer room, where mommy sits?...

in the bathroom where i love to pull toilet paper out?...
on the couch where i love to nap?...

Here i am right behind you in your shadow the whole time!!!

What the Obama???

Well Tessa and i went and VOTED did you? I am disappointed in America for choosing Obama but what are ya gonna do? Granted I didn't vote for Obama or McCain. I seriously thought of writing in God (kenneth from 30 Rock) or Mickey Mouse (Kyle gave me that thought). Apparently at my kids school they did their own vote for president and here is how our convo went...
Me-Guess what mommy did today?
Kylee-you went and voted
Me-very good, i did go and vote
Brenton-we voted too, i voted for what does c-o-m spell
Me-come?
B-no thats not who i voted for
Me-was it between Obama and McCain
B-yes that's right i voted for McCain
Me-oh did dad tell you to do that
B-no i just think that McCain sounds more like a real name than Obama
Kylee-i voted for Obama, i love the way it sounds, (then she says it real slow again) obama.
There is some voting for you 7 and 5 year old style...

My Baby is ONE!! Happy Birthday Tessa

Where does the time go? I remember October 30, 2007 so well. I was so nervous that morning, why doesn't it get any easier the more you have? I was also afraid that i would have the same reaction to the epidural that i had with kylee, which i did but luckily i warned them ahead of time and they had some meds to bring my BP back up to normal. Tessa was my quickest delivery, i was induced between 10 and 11 and Tessa was born at around 6 (neither walt or i can remember the exact time???). She is and was gorgeous...

Here is her newborn picture, eyes wide open and taking everything inThis is the before and after shot. She was sitting there watching her favorite show, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Then she turned around and gave me her classic Tessa face. Does it get any cuter than that?

Here is Tessa in her halloween costume, she is a pumpkin fairy. Since she was born on the day before Halloween my mother gave her the nickname Pumpkin. And yes i made her costume all by myself (i am totally patting myself on the back!!!)

Here is Tessa's birthday cake. It was a Martha Stewart Carmel Cake. that is my mom dressed as Mickey Mouse holding her.
Luckily Brady, her cousin (Batman) showed up to help blow out her candles. Happy Birthday Tessa and love to all who showed up at her party dressed in a costume. Thank you for indulging me in my Halloween Craziness, you all looked GORGEOUS
